1. Introduction

SlideTempo ("we", "our", "us") operates the website slidetempo.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address and name — provided directly or via Google OAuth
• Profile picture URL — from your Google account, if you sign in with Google
• Hashed password — if you register with email/password (we never store plain-text passwords)

Uploaded Files

When you upload a presentation (.pptx or .pdf) for analysis, we process the file to extract slide content (text, word counts, image counts). For registered users, files may be stored in encrypted cloud storage to enable saved analyses. Files from anonymous users are processed in memory and immediately deleted.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We retain your Stripe customer ID and payment transaction records (amount, currency, status) for billing and support purposes.

Usage Data

We log anonymized analysis metadata (slide count, time slot, overtime probability) to improve our algorithms. We do not log the content of your slides.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service

• To send transactional emails (welcome, password reset)
• To improve our analysis algorithms and user experience

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

• Microsoft Azure — for cloud hosting and file storage.

5. Cookies and consent

Strictly necessary storage is used without consent, as the site cannot work without it:

• st_token — an httpOnly authentication cookie containing your session token. Expires after 7 days.
• i18nextLng — stores your language preference in localStorage.
• slidetempo_cookie_consent — records the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again.
• App preferences in localStorage: analyzer layout, organizer view, saved programmes and their versions.

Everything else is loaded only after you accept it. Today that is one item:

• Google Analytics — page-view and usage statistics with IP anonymisation. It sets statistics cookies (_ga and similar); the script is not requested at all until you consent, and withdrawing consent removes the cookies.

We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer — withdrawing is as easy as consenting.

6. Data Retention

• Account data — retained until you delete your account
• Uploaded files — stored as long as the associated saved analysis exists; anonymous uploads are deleted immediately after processing
• Payment records — retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance
• Timer sessions — automatically expire and are deleted after 48 hours

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data (via your Account page)
• Port your data
• Object to processing

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords (bcrypt), httpOnly cookies, and encrypted cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
